The beginning of founding in Kunia Raciborska dates back to the XIX century. At this time, nearby the already existing rolling mill shop there was built a small foundry where sleeves for axles of carriages were produced.
The main expand of founding started after the I World War when production of castings for machine tools and agricultural machines began.
The development of the foundry took place between 1922-1928 and itłs modernisation between 1956-1960. In that period a new part of store was built, cupolas were replaced, processing of moulding sand was partly mechanized and a cleaning shop was finished for exploitation. In 1963 the production in Foundry II started, a new store for pattern equipments and a drying room for wood were built.
On the 01st of February 1996, by the excluding from Machine Tool Factory "RAFAMET" S.A., there was established Foundry "RAFAMET" The 100% proprietor of the Foundry is Machine Tool Factory "RAFAMET" S.A.
Nowadays, the company employs over 180 employees on four production departments and about 50 people in administration.
We produce grey and ductile iron casting. Our basic assortment is casting for machine industry. 40% of our sales are for export and internal European deliveries.
